Float Rules

 

Mardi Gras parade/run rules and regulations of Krewe

 

1. You must be at least a $25 member to participate in any Krewe events and/or activities, or be elected an official title of the Krewe. Children younger than 18 years of age are encouraged to participate in parades and/or other activities under close parental or sponsor supervision.

 

2.  The drivers of float must be a licensed driver. They are not allowed to throw anything or drink alcohol during the parade/run. All float riders/driver must be ready to begin the parade/run one (1) hour before the parade/run. Driver must be in the cab of truck at this time.

 

3. Our float will be decorated in the theme of our choice, unless participating parade rules differ.

 

4. The only things to be thrown from the floats are: beads, cups, doubloons, candy, and small toys. All throws must be to the back of the crowd for safety precautions. You are responsible for your own throws and drinks. Taking of anyone else throws and drinks; is prohibited. If this happens you may be asked to leave the parade/activity and/or fined by the Capitaine.

 

5. No glass containers, guns, water guns, fireworks, silly string, underwear or distasteful/vulgar clothing, or signs (i.e AShow Me@ various parts of the body) will be allowed.

 

6. No showing of various private body parts from the float and/or activities of Krewe will be allowed. If this happens you may be asked to leave the parade/activity and/or fined by the Capitaine.

 

7. Once the parade has started, float riders must remain on the float, no getting on and off except during chicken throws.

 

8. Participant recognizes that Krewe de Kee-yaw does not provide any supervision to any participant, nor has any Krewe member agreed to provide any care or undertake any responsibilities for participant or minor participants.

 

9. Participant recognizes that there is no contractual relation between Participant and Krewe de Kee-yaw.

 

10. Should the Krewe be unable to parade because of bad weather, the city will not allow us a rain out date. Refunds will not be issued.

 

11. Should individual not be able to ride due to mechanical failure of a float, they hereby understand that there will be no refunds issued.

 

12. Parade only riders (non-members) must have a sponsor (a Krewe member) to be able to ride and pay the designated parade fee set by Board Members.

 

13. There will be no alcohol or cigarettes allowed to anyone under 21, per Louisiana State Laws. If you smoke, no smoking is allowed on float due to safety issues, you will have to get off during stops to smoke.
